About Polyurethane Foam Slabs

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION :

Polyurethane foams are specially formulated to meet the physical property demands of FRP-composite boat builders. These polyurethane foams provide structural strength with moisture resistance, enabling boat designers to replace wood components with a top-quality, non-decaying product. This product is fully compatible with fibre glass-laminating production methods. This PU Foam is non-abrasive and can be machined with standard high-speed steel (HSS) cutting tools. It can also be cut cleanly with water jets and traditional wood-carving tools. Our polyurethane foams are produced in a range of densities, allowing designers and engineers to best align physical properties with structural needs. Our scarce natural energy resources have compelled us to save energy. By using PU Foam, the overall weight of the boat is reduced which helps in increasing the fuel efficiency. We offer our clients with the high quality Puf sheets which are very useful for their thermal insulation purposes. Due to the good quality of insulation the ice stored in the ice box does not melt for longer duration resulting in the longer durability and the freshness retained by the fish stored in fish holes.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Grain-free material
  • Closed-cell polyurethane foam
  • Will not absorb liquid water, and is largely unaffected by solvents and paints
  • Fiber glass laminating resins bond readily to PU Foam

PRODUCT DETAILS

  • Standard Size- 8 Ft X 4 Ft And 1 Mtr X Mtr.
  • Thickness 2, 3, 4, 5
  • Density- 40kg/M3 And Above
  • Temperature Range - -40 Deg To +100 Deg

We also manufacture High Density PUF Blocks which can be used as Stringers instead of wooden blocks to reduce the weight of the boat.

ADVANTAGES

  • Reduction in weight increases fuel efficiency
  • Labour work can be reduced as they are easy to machine and handle.

Superior Moisture and Chemical Resistance

These polyurethane foam slabs owe their excellent moisture resistance to a closed cell structure, effectively blocking water ingress and limiting absorption to under 2%. Their chemical resistance protects against most solvents, facilitating use in environments ranging from cold storage to manufacturing, where exposure to moisture or chemicals is common.

Enhanced Thermal Insulation and Safety

Engineered to provide dependable thermal insulation, the foam slabs feature low thermal conductivity values (0.022-0.028 W/mK). For added safety, an FR (Fire Retardant) grade is available on request, making these slabs suitable for applications where fire resistance is crucial, such as in construction or industrial sites.

FAQs of Polyurethane Foam Slabs:

Q: How should polyurethane foam slabs be installed for effective thermal insulation?

A: Polyurethane foam slabs can be easily cut to desired dimensions and fixed with adhesives or mechanical fasteners, depending on the application. For enhanced performance, the surface can be treated or laminated with aluminium foil or craft paper.

Q: What are the advantages of using closed cell polyurethane foam in construction?

A: Closed cell structure ensures excellent moisture resistance, low water absorption (<2%), and high structural strength. This makes the slabs ideal for environments requiring durability and thermal insulation, such as cold storage and building walls.

Q: When is it recommended to use the Fire Retardant (FR) grade foam slabs?

A: Fire Retardant (FR) grade foam slabs should be specified in applications where fire safety regulations demand non-combustible materials, such as public buildings, commercial facilities, and high-risk industrial sites.

Q: Where can polyurethane foam slabs be utilized effectively?

A: These slabs are well suited for thermal insulation, soundproofing, and cushioning in construction, cold storage, HVAC installations, industrial facilities, and transport vehicles, wherever protection from temperature fluctuations and moisture is needed.

Q: What is the process for customizing slab size, thickness, and surface treatment?

A: Customers can specify required dimensions, thickness (10 mm to 100 mm), and surface treatments such as plain finish or custom lamination with aluminium foil or craft paper. Manufacturer processes each order to meet precise project requirements.

Q: What environmental benefits do these foam slabs offer?

A: Polyurethane foam slabs are CFC-free and formulated to minimize environmental impact. Their long life expectancy (10-15 years) and eco-friendly composition make them suitable for sustainable building practices.

Q: How does the foam slab perform under extreme temperatures?

A: These slabs withstand temperatures ranging from -50C to +110C, ensuring consistent performance in both freezing and high-heat environments, making them versatile for numerous industrial and commercial applications.
